As in the past two years, the Jungheinrich WMS (Warehouse Management System) has received the much coveted 2011 stamp of approval from the Warehouse Logistics team at the Fraunhofer Institut für Materialfluss und Logistik (IML) and it offers many improvements over the previous year. Release 5.1d of the Jungheinrich WMS once again underlines the company's leading role as a service provider in the field of intralogistics.
The Fraunhofer Institut für Materialfluss und Logistik in Dortmund has, for many years, undertaken a comparison of various warehouse management systems (WMS), summarising the results in a database. The consistency of the validation is ensured by using a survey which contains more than 2,700 individual aspects; it is adjusted annually by the Fraunhofer IML to allow for current market changes. An intensive review of the functionalities recorded is undertaken with a live demonstration of the respective functions.
The Jungheinrich WMS is characterised by a comprehensive standard package which can be adapted to individual customer requirements on a profile basis. Standard functions which have been subjected to multiple tests guarantee much more reliable operation than individual programming where some errors may only become apparent during certain operating situations, resulting in serious problems for a warehouse system.
The significantly better validation results of the Jungheinrich WMS 5.1d are the result of a continuous development process at Jungheinrich, with new requirements being incorporated into new releases. Our regular releases enable our customers to continuously participate in current innovations in intralogistics. In particular, the Jungheinrich WMS also provides excellent support for new truck functions and system solutions which are increasingly networked.
More than 150 customers from different industries are already benefiting from increased efficiency in their warehousing processes thanks to their use of the Jungheinrich WMS. Industry independence is also certified by the Frauenhofer IML with proven capability in 90 different industries. Receiving top marks from the Warehouse Logistics team, the functional support of diverse master data had a particular impact on this.
Another important topic, particularly for employees who have to work with the system daily, is the ergonomics of the system. With reference to EN ISO 9241, the Jungheinrich WMS gives consideration to all ergonomic aspects, thereby enabling employees to work comfortably with the system for long periods.
The information system in the Jungheinrich WMS gives our customers a significant competitive advantage. They always know what is going on. In addition to pre-defined key performance indicators (KPI), individual queries can be put to the system via a report generator. Using the warehouse visualisation, the control room knows the location of the fork lift trucks or terminals at any time and the current usage situation.
Increasing globalisation means that many companies have sites located across the world. The market comparison by the Fraunhofer IML once again shows that the multi-language module in the Jungheinrich WMS is unique on the market.
The Jungheinrich WMS supports a number of languages, which can be easily selected by the user at work. In addition to German and many other languages, particular mention is made of English, French, Chinese, Polish, Romanian, Slovakian, Slovenian and Spanish. It is therefore no surprise that the Jungheinrich WMS is the first validated warehouse management system for the French market on warehouse-logistics.fr.
Thanks to the Jungheinrich WMS, more and more companies are benefiting from the technological leadership of Jungheinrich, aligning their warehouse processes to future-proof sustainability. In line with our motto 'Jungheinrich – Machines. Ideas. Solutions', we can demonstrate to you that our products and ideas provide you with tailor-made solutions.
