In the competition for the Clean Tech Media Award, the EJE 112i from Jungheinrich has already won the public's vote on the Internet and is now on the final short-list for the award. This award recognises environmental commitment in combination with economical thinking and the use of alternative technologies.
The EJE 112i is an electric pedestrian pallet truck and its special energy supply means it's already truly a winner: The EJE 112i is the first production truck of its type to use lithium-ion technology.
The battery has been designed in the form of a briefcase and is similarly easy to handle. The use of lithium-ion technology has reduced the truck's consumption by around 30 percent. Crucial to this are a reduction in the truck weight as well as the improved efficiency offered by the new energy storage technology.
Outstanding features for incorporation into the fork lift truck include no maintenance, the simplest battery handling as well as quick and boost charging. These features ensure that the EJE 112i can always be made ready for operation extremely quickly. The battery can be charged to 50 percent within 30 minutes. The battery is fully charged after just 80 minutes. And due to its small dimensions and low weight, this lightweight model is perfect for carrying on HGVs: Without forks, the EJE 112i is only 425 millimetres long, with a total weight of 289 kg.
